Why MEDINO?

A medical centre for the whole family – in the middle of Vienna's 1st district, with medicine that takes its time.

Time for your questions

Unhurried conversations instead of five-minute slots – and appointments planned so that they hold.

Short distances between specialties

If your general practitioner considers a cardiac work-up useful, cardiology is one door away – with the laboratory in the same building.

Wahlarzt practice with clear costs

You book directly, without a referral. You submit the invoice to your health insurer and receive part of the amount back.

Location & directions

In the center of Vienna – quick to reach, even during a lunch break

MEDINO is centrally located in Vienna's 1st district by the City Hall – reachable by U2, U3 and several tram lines. Many patients combine their appointment with their commute.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

How do I find the right doctor?
Filter by specialty above, or type in what you are looking for – a language works too, for example “Arabic” or “Spanish”. If you are not sure which specialty is responsible, give us a call: +43 1 226 5567. A call costs you nothing, and we will tell you which specialty fits your concern.
What does Wahlarzt mean – and do I get money back?
Wahlarzt means: there is no contract with the statutory health insurers. You pay the fee directly and submit the invoice to your health insurer. What is reimbursed is decided by the fund. Private supplementary insurance covers more, depending on the policy. The fees are listed for each service on the booking page.
Do I need a referral?
No. You book directly with the specialty you need. For examinations elsewhere – an MRI, for example – we issue the necessary referral.
Are the doctors at MEDINO employed by MEDINO?
No. The doctors at MEDINO are self-employed and run their own practices. Each of them bills independently. The treatment contract is concluded with the individual doctor, not with MEDINO.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Acute concerns in general practice usually on the same day. For the specialties it depends on demand – online you see the available times in real time. If it is urgent and nothing suitable appears to be free, give us a call.
Which languages are spoken?
German and English at all practices. In addition Arabic, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, Farsi, French, Polish, Spanish and Hungarian. Type the language into the search field to see who speaks it.
One doctor is on parental leave – what does that mean for me?
Dr. Shaleen Khatri is currently on parental leave. Her profile stays online. We will let you know as soon as she is back.
What should I bring to the first appointment?
E-card or photo ID, any findings you have, a list of your medication and – if it is about vaccinations – your vaccination record. For children, the Parent-Child Pass as well.
When are you open?
Monday from 9 am to 6 pm, Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 8 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. Sunday is closed.

On public holidays we are often on call. Whether and for how long depends on which doctors are available – we usually announce it a week in advance here, on Google and by phone.
Where do I find physiotherapy, midwives or psychology?
On the page Therapy and counseling. We keep the two apart because the search differs: with doctors you look for a specialty, with therapy for a concern.
