The specialist

A specialist who listens – and accompanies your path from beginning to end

Wanting a child and fertility are among the most natural things in life – and at the same time among the most complex. For more than two decades Dr. Alexander Just has accompanied women and couples: from the first question "is everything all right with me?" to the positive pregnancy test.

His credo: personal attention, individual treatment concepts, empathy and evidence-based care.

"Wanting a child and fertility are the most natural and at the same time one of the most complex subjects in a woman's life. With my knowledge I give you the opportunity to check your reproductive status early, so that you can then act on your own responsibility and self-determined. Together, every aspect of your wish for a child is looked at; trust, discretion and safety are a matter of course. I will accompany you throughout the entire duration of your treatment. And at every point of your therapy." — Dr. Alexander Just

JUST ONE STEP · reproductive prevention

Your fertility can be planned – if you know its status

From often futile aftercare to effective prevention.

Most people make provision in many areas of life – only in family planning do many leave it to chance. Yet natural fertility is limited in time. The JUST ONE STEP method developed by Dr. Just makes your current reproductive status visible, so that you can make the right decisions early enough. Get your status – control your status.

The three pillars of the method

01

Age-adapted advice

Individual advice and development of measures, tailored to your stage of life.

02

Lifestyle balance analysis

Quality and quantity of nutrition, exercise, sleep and more.

03

Body & cell health

Analysis and monitoring – including egg reserve and cell metabolism.

Who JUST ONE STEP is for

  • You would like to know your fertility for the first time – even without an acute wish for a child.
  • You may be planning children later and want to assess your options.
  • You would like to become pregnant and want to prepare your body as well as possible.
  • Your wish for a child has so far gone unfulfilled – you want to understand why and what can be improved.

No hormones involved: the method relies on personalised micronutrients and trace elements as well as recommendations on nutrition and exercise. Because a healthy body also holds a high natural fertility.

Reproductive prevention (JUST ONE STEP)

Knowing your own status early and acting in a self-determined way.

Assisted reproduction (IVF/ICSI, insemination)

Personally accompanied – carried out as a visiting consultant at the Kinderwunschzentrum an der Wien.

Second opinion on previous treatment

A neutral, experienced assessment of the path you have taken so far.

Fertility preservation where medically indicated

A holistic approach

Natural paths first – medicine that sees the whole person

Not every wish for a child immediately needs high-tech medicine. Dr. Just first assesses natural fertility and exhausts naturally assisted paths – cycle optimisation, micronutrients, lifestyle. Only where necessary do further treatments come into play.

  • Additional diplomas in traditional European medicine

Emotional support

Wanting a child is a matter of head and heart too

The path to the child you long for is often emotionally demanding. Dr. Just therefore works closely with Christina Siebinger , with whom he has a well-established collaboration – fertility coach and certified life and social counsellor. She accompanies you with empathy through an unfulfilled wish for a child, around treatments and after a miscarriage. Her support complements medical care but does not replace it.

General fertility advice or specialised support?

Finding the right first step

Eine general fertility consultation is often the beginning: it answers your questions, puts your personal situation in context and gets the first examinations under way. At Medino you can also have this consultation with the experienced gynaecologists.

Dr. Just goes further: As a specialist in reproductive medicine and reproductive prevention he accompanies the entire path – from prevention with JUST ONE STEP through the assessment of natural fertility to assisted reproduction and second opinions – personally throughout.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

From when should I have my fertility assessed?
If no pregnancy occurs after about 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse, an assessment makes sense. From the age of 35, or where there are pre-existing conditions, you should not wait that long – here an assessment after around 6 months is advisable.
What is JUST ONE STEP and who is it suitable for?
JUST ONE STEP is the method of reproductive prevention developed by Dr. Just: it makes your fertility status visible – even without an acute wish for a child. That way you can act early and self-determined instead of having to rely on chance later.
Can I have my fertility tested – as a man too?
Yes, for women and men. In women, hormone and blood values, the egg reserve (AMH) and ultrasound make your fertility status visible, for example; in men a semen analysis (examination of sperm quality). That way you can have your fertility tested in Vienna – even without an acute wish for a child – and receive a clear next step.
Does Dr. Just also offer natural approaches?
Yes. He first assesses natural fertility and uses naturally assisted concepts – further treatments only follow when they are really necessary.
Can I obtain a second opinion on my previous treatment?
Yes. An experienced, neutral second opinion on previous fertility treatment is one of Dr. Just's special fields.
Does Dr. Just also carry out assisted reproduction (IVF)?
Advice and support take place at Medino. Dr. Just carries out the IVF/ICSI itself as a visiting consultant at the Kinderwunschzentrum an der Wien – you are looked after by him personally throughout.
Do patients from Lower Austria come as well?
Yes. Medino is centrally located in the 1st district; many patients travel specifically from Lower Austria and beyond.
Is Dr. Just a Wahlarzt – what does that mean?
Medino is a Wahlarzt centre. You receive a fee note for submission to your health insurance fund or supplementary insurance – in return you get flexible appointments and short waiting times.
What happens at the first appointment?
In the first conversation there is time for your situation and your questions; existing findings are put in context, the next diagnostic steps are planned and an individual path is discussed.
Should my partner come to the appointment?
Gladly. Wanting a child concerns both partners – where it makes sense both are therefore involved in assessment and advice from the outset.
How quickly do I get an appointment?
You book online in real time through the Medino scheduler. At the Wahlarzt practice, waiting times stay short – Saturday appointments are possible too.
What documents should I bring?
If possible, bring previous findings with you (for example hormone and blood values, ultrasound or semen analysis results, earlier treatment records). This helps to avoid duplicate examinations.
Does Medino accompany me beyond fertility care too?
Yes. From pregnancy care through internal and cardiological support, nutritional medicine and mental health to physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy – at Medino everything is at one address.
