About me

Dr. Nikzad worked for several years in the sleep laboratory and in the psychiatric department before remaining in primary care at AKH, where he works in addition to his private practice. He has brought many aspects from both specialist areas into TCM, where he achieves very good results.
“Patients often come to me with many previous diagnoses and a long path of suffering, where TCM is the last hope. And very often I can really help them. Whether it’s a nettle rash that won’t go away after years or an unfulfilled desire to have children. TCM unites the psyche with the body, and that is often the detail that is missing for success,” explains the experienced doctor.
“I also usually do a blood count for complaints such as tiredness and fatigue, because I work with a combination of conventional medicine and TCM and try to get to the bottom of the problem as holistically as possible in order to initiate the most effective healing process.”
TCM treatments include several aspects, which are sometimes used individually, sometimes in combination: Pulse and tongue control, tinctures or teas, acupuncture ( also possible without needles, but in laser form) and, in addition, cupping.
Dr. Nikzad also likes to use TCM with children to treat chronic mucus and strengthen the immune system for the winter season: “We use tiny units of herbal tinctures and, if necessary, laser acupuncture, which the children usually like very much because it lights up in an exciting way and they also feel an improvement.”
Dr. Nikzad also pays special attention to Long Covid, where TCM is particularly helpful:
“Patients often come in who are able to function in everyday life, but then can no longer manage sport and run out of steam after everyday tasks. This is a classic case for TCM. As I have been treating Long Covid patients for several years now, I can draw on a wealth of experience, which naturally flows into my work. “
A visit to Dr. Nikzad can also help with everyday complaints.
“If it’s simply neck tension from working at a computer screen, acupuncture treatment is often enough to solve the problem. For severe colds, I use a combination of tincture and acupuncture. After all, the goal is always to get better.”
