About me

As a specialist in urology, I look after you with a combination of conventional and – if you wish – complementary medicine.

I treat women and men for all urological conditions and complaints and also carry out screening examinations. Diagnostics usually include a detailed history, an ultrasound examination and a physical examination; in addition, blood and urine tests, swabs and, where needed, further imaging (MRI, CT with a referral) or a cystoscopy are possible.

Modern, holistic care matters to me: I take time for my patients and, where useful, combine conventional diagnostics and treatment with complementary methods – for your health and your well-being.

Special interests

  • Annual urological screening and cancer screening (prostate, bladder, kidney, testicles)
  • Men’s health and family planning – incl. Vasectomy and foreskin surgery (circumcision and frenulotomy)

Frequently asked questions

What does Wahlarzt mean – and do I get the costs back?
MEDINO is a Wahlarzt practice, so there is no direct contract with the health insurance funds. You pay the fee yourself first and can then submit the fee note to your health insurance fund. Depending on the service, around 80 per cent of the corresponding public tariff is usually reimbursed.
How do I make an appointment?
You can make appointments conveniently online through the appointment booking on medino.at or by telephone on +43 1 226 5567.
Where is the practice?
The practice is located in the MEDINO Medical Centre, Auerspergstrasse 6, 1010 Vienna – centrally located and easy to reach by public transport.
Do I need a referral?
No. As a Wahlarzt practice we do not require a referral – you can make an appointment directly.
What should I bring to the first appointment?
Please bring photo identification and your e-card as well as – if you have them – previous findings, current laboratory values, a list of medication and any imaging (for example a CD from an MRI or CT scan).
How does a urological examination proceed?
As a rule the appointment begins with a detailed conversation (history), followed by a physical examination and an ultrasound examination. Where needed, urine and blood tests or further diagnostics are added.
Are urological screening examinations offered?
Yes. Screening examinations are an important part of urological care and are offered in the practice.
Can I get an appointment at short notice?
As a Wahlarzt practice we deliberately take our time and as a rule offer short waiting times and flexible scheduling.
What are Dr. Schwittai's special interests?
Her special interests include urological screening and cancer screening, men's health and family planning (including vasectomy and circumcision), problems passing urine, benign prostate enlargement, stone disease, uro-oncology, andrology, paediatric urology and complementary methods.
Does Dr. Schwittai treat women, men and children?
Yes. As a urologist she treats women, men and children for all urological conditions and complaints and also carries out screening examinations.
Which languages does Dr. Schwittai speak?
Dr. Schwittai speaks German and English.
Does Dr. Schwittai also offer complementary methods?
Yes, alongside conventional urology. These include phytotherapy as well as vitamin C and vitamin B infusions.
Which outpatient procedures are possible?
Under local anaesthetic, vasectomy (male sterilisation), circumcision and frenulotomy – the treatment of a shortened foreskin frenulum – are carried out, among others; the vasectomy takes place in cooperation with her colleague Dr. Suarez. We are happy to discuss further treatment options in person.
Does Dr. Schwittai also treat urological complaints in children (paediatric urology)?
Yes. Paediatric urology includes bed-wetting, a narrowed foreskin (phimosis) and an undescended testicle, among others. She assesses these complaints and treats them in a way that suits children.
