Psychiatrists & Psychologists at MEDINO
Psychiatrists, psychologists & family health counsellors for all ages.
We look after the mental health of families, children, adolescents and adults – with an experienced team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and psychosocial counsellors.
Whether it’s developmental assessments followed by testing (e.g. Bayley Scales of Infant Development, K-ABC II) by our clinical child psychologists, support for mothers with postnatal depression, or management of ADHD by our psychiatrists – at MEDINO, the whole family receives comprehensive support.
Support in all situations
Sometimes a conversation with a psychosocial counsellor is enough; sometimes a thorough diagnosis by a psychologist or psychiatrist is required. Even if medication becomes necessary, we provide empathetic support to our patients.
A special focus on child psychology
Our experienced child psychologists and child psychiatrists provide rapid assistance without long waiting times to support your child’s secure upbringing. From pre-puberty check-ups to initial consultations with teenagers.
Developmental assessment in preterm infants
Around 7% of all births in Austria are preterm births (before 37 weeks’ gestation). Thanks to modern medicine, survival rates have improved significantly – yet standardised developmental assessment remains crucial.
If not properly cared for, abnormalities may arise later in very small premature babies, as well as in so-called late preterm babies:
- Developmental delays (language, motor skills, social behaviour)
- Learning difficulties
- Attention deficit disorders (ADHD)
- Behavioural problems
For this reason, developmental follow-up assessments are recommended for all premature babies – particularly those born before 35 weeks of gestation – up to the age of 6 (e.g. using the Bayley Scales or the Kaufman ABC Test).
Why MEDINO?
As clinics are often only able to provide follow-up care for very small premature babies, MEDINO offers sound developmental psychological assessment for all stages of life. Furthermore, our psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors ensure that your child receives the best possible support – both medically and psychologically.
