About me
I firmly believe that it is important to look at the person as a whole and work holistically, especially when helping my clients to learn, heal and optimize their functions.
I bring a diverse background to physiotherapy. I grew up in an international community in the north of Scotland, have traveled extensively and have studied and lived in Glasgow, Berkeley (USA) and London. I have a Master’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in Education and a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy where I focused on the interdisciplinary treatment of chronic back pain. In between my studies, I also gained experience as a full-time dementia caregiver. This path has shaped my holistic, empathetic approach to care, focusing on both physical and emotional well-being.
During my time as a physiotherapist in London, I worked in both an internationally recognized multidisciplinary chronic pain center (INPUT Pain Management Centre) and a leading NHS teaching hospital (Royal Free Hospital), renowned for its world-class treatment and specialist medical services. In the latter, I worked both as a specialist physiotherapist for pelvic floor health, particularly during pregnancy and the postnatal period, and in outpatient physiotherapy focusing on chronic and acute back and nerve pain.
After the birth of my first daughter in 2017, I moved to Vienna and expanded my specialization in pelvic floor health through additional training and experience in this field. I also work as a physiotherapist in German and with PelvicFMS to further support the optimal function of my clients’ pelvic floor and surrounding muscles.
I set up and run the PonteMed Academy. This is an international group of experts specializing in the field of functional magnetic stimulation. We are continuously developing this innovative technology in the form of the PelvicFMS device and supporting those who use it to get the best out of it.
-> This is a multifaceted role with a strong educational focus, including creating and leading workshops on the pelvic floor, managing the Academy team, organizing conferences, answering questions, delivering training and updating on the latest FMS research findings.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters, playing the harp and being out in nature.
