ABOUT ME

Univ. Prof. Dr. Kurt Widhalm is Professor of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Human Geneticist and Emeritus Head of the Department of Nutritional Medicine of the Medical University of Vienna with many years of experience and an international reputation. Dr. Widhalm is also one of the best-known pediatricians in Vienna. He has many years of experience and internationally recognized expertise in all areas of paediatrics.

He is known for his empathetic, patient-oriented and ethically responsible work. With a particular focus on metabolism, nutrition, obesity and cholesterol, he is passionate about protecting children and young people from the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle at an early age.

Prof. Widhalm takes a lot of time for his young patients and their families in order to ensure a detailed consultation, individual care and quick and well-founded diagnoses.

1986	Award of the professional title of associate university professor
since 1988	Head of the Austrian Early Detection and Treatment Program for Congenital Metabolic Disorders at the University Children’s Hospital Vienna
1992	Appointment as Head of the Internal Department and Medical Director of the Mautner Markhof Children’s Hospital of the City of Vienna
1994	Award of the Venia docendi for med. and chem. Laboratory diagnostics (clinical chemistry)
1995	Return to the University Children’s Hospital Vienna as senior consultant
1998	Recognized as a specialist in medical and chemical laboratory diagnostics by the Austrian Medical Association. Medical Association
2003	Appointed Professor of Nutritional Medicine and Head of the Department of Nutritional Medicine at Univ. Vienna; from 2004 Med. Univ. Vienna
